      Awesome car for eight years

      by Hans S on 2/24/2026 3:13:07 PM

This is an incredibly well designed car - the best I ever had. The engineering in this car is superb with many aspects that make it a pleasure to drive. It is smooth with good handling and takes bumps so much better than my wife's hybrid. The maintenance in seven years has been minimal - just new tires and oil changes and a new set of brakes. An electrical component went out which caused an engine light and hampered one long trip I was on - but it was covered in full by warranty even six years after I purchased it. Again, it the best car I ever owned.

      Absolutely great car

by Jeanne on 9/3/2025 1:22:57 AM

This Volt is wonderful - on mileage, reliability, low service costs, handling, and cargo space with the rear seats folded. It gets 52 miles on a battery charge, which is usually more than enough for my daily usage. On the days that I drive more or when I travel, it rolls over seamlessly to the the gas generator which generates electricity at a rate of 39 mpg, so I have the best of both worlds but the car is all electric so produces virtually no emissions. It has a lively handling and goes from 0-60 in a flash because there is no transmission. I haven't had a big service repair until this year, seven years later, when I had to replace the brakes and calipers. And, there must have been at least 100 times when someone said, "I can't believe how much capacity this car holds in its hatchback space." I so wish that Chevrolet had not adopted the Bolt (all battery) and instead had stayed with the Volt.

The best car I've ever had

by Devan on 5/22/2025 5:58:54 PM

I purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Volt premier in Pacific Blue Metallic. It's a georgous color, and after driving it 400 miles home from Denver, I knew it was the car for me. The electric range is good for daily use, some people may not like that it has to rely on the gas engine after the 40-50 miles are up, but that's the point of the car. It's not an EV, it's not an ICE car, it's squarely in the middle, and it does both jobs very well.
